Not heading to the shore this weekend? There are plenty of great eats even if you can’t get to the boardwalk.
Tonight, Zahav’s (237 St. James Place) Michael Solomonov is hosting a Down the Shore event along with some of Philadelphia’s best chefs including Pierre Calmels of Bibou, Terence Feury of Fork and David Katz of Meme. Each chef will be cooking up a Jersey Shore favorite such as fried clams, pizza and even a crab boil.
But that’s not the only spot to get some special food or drink this holiday weekend. Percy Street Barbecue (900 South St.) is hosting a picnic all weekend. On Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m., guests will be encouraged to “sing for their supper” during cowboy karaoke. On Sunday, a live bluegrass band will play and the restaurant’s new all-day menu will be available. Then on Monday, it’s Watermelon Day where two types of refreshing watermelon beer will be on tap all day. Between 2 and 4 p.m., enjoy a spiked or non-spiked watermelon.
