Another one of HGTV’s family-friendly couples is shattering the facade of peaceful perfection. Just a couple of months after some disturbing claims were made against the church that “Fixer Upper’s” Chip and Joanna Gaines belong to, TMZ is reporting that Tarek and Christina El Moussa of “Flip or Flop” are separated. In May, there was a domestic incident at the El Moussa’s Orange County home that involved a “possibly suicidal male” with a gun. When authorities showed up, they found Tarek on a nearby hiking trail and made him surrender his weapon. Authorities confiscated five guns from their home. The couple told TMZ that the May incident was an “unfortunate misunderstanding” and that they will continue to work through this [separation] process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together.” So maybe “Flip or Flop” will survive this? But so fans of the show we can say Tarek never listens to his wife and that’s such a deal breaker in 2016.
