For big Zombie fans, a ghastly double feature

Good things come in twos for Rob Zombie fans this fall. Not only did Zombie write and direct the recently released terror movie redux, “Halloween 2,” but the music and movie auteur also hits the road with “Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool.” Just as the movie resuscitates the stinking corpse of Michael Myers, this fourth solo studio album by the former White Zombie frontman revives what we can only presume is yet another gory alter ego.

The Hellbelly shtick might be a persona to hang a musical idea around. Apparently, that’s not the case with Zombie.

“For me, I don’t see it as a character in any way, shape or form,” he says. “Clearly someone like Alice Cooper refers to this stage persona as a character he plays. I don’t see it like that at all.”

According to him, he’s always been Rob Zombie.
