Jessica Morgan, half of the fashion blogging duo known as the Fug Girls, traded in her flip-flops for heels when she flew in Wednesday from Los Angeles for New York Fashion Week. Morgan is running through the tents at Lincoln Center and enduring painful blisters so she can keep eager readers updated on the latest fashion trends, gossip and faux pas. She talked to Metro about the adventures she has had in co-authoring the popular and hilarious blogGo Fug Yourselfwith Heather Cocks, with whom she also wrote the novels “Spoiled” and “Messy.”

Metro: I know one of you bumped into Justin Bieber (winner of Fug Madness 2013) the other day. What was that like?

Jessica Morgan: That was Heather – that’s probably been our biggest celebrity sighting this Fashion Week. He’s growing sort of a sad adolescent mustache, which is also great.

Speaking of Justin Bieber, he has man bangs, as does Anthony Kiedis, who you’ve also encountered this Fashion Week. What do you think about man bangs?

You know, I think a man bang is very difficult to pull off unless you’re, say, in the Beatles, and it’s 1960-something or other, but I think it takes a certain sort of man to pull off the man bang. I don’t know if any of these guys are really doing it. It’s Fashion Week, so it’s the time to try it out, I guess.

Whose fashion influence do you think we’re seeing right now on Miley Cyrus?

I think she’s almost going in a weird Lady Gaga direction. I think it’s interesting from an artistic standpoint that she’s doing the Lady Gaga leotard thing. I hope she shows up wearing a meat dress at her next event.

I’m sure you’ve become pretty desensitized to celebrities and the Fashion Week scene, but do you still get starstruck?

I never get desensitized! I always have so much fun. I always say to Heather, when it’s no fun anymore, that’s how we know things have gotten really bad because it’s so much fun – not just the celebrities, but also the fashionistas, the people who wish they were fashionistas … It’s the best people-watching in the world. I will never get jaded of this. It’s too much fun.

Have you ever been really starstruck during an interview?

I can’t think of one right now but I know for Heather it was Matt Damon. Heather had a Fashion Week once when she spoke to both Kanye and Salman Rushdie. That’s kind of like the yin and the yang.

Have you ever been contacted by celebrity readers?

I remember Kirsten Dunst was doing press junkets for “Elizabethtown,” and during that she said she read us and that we were geniuses, which was extremely kind of her because that was during a period when we were being very mean about her outfits. We got an email from Elisha Cuthbert that was very, very kind as well and we had said some mean stuff about her – people are usually actually very good sports.

Oh! The actress Alice Evans from “The Vampire Diaries” – she wrote us once. Oh my god, it was so delightful. She asked us for our opinion on a pair of thigh-high boots she’d bought and she was like, “I’m wondering if these are too young for me,” and before we had the chance to write her back, she emailed us back and said, “I thought about it and I’m taking them back. I can’t do it.”

Who have been the omnipresent celebrities at Fashion Week this season?

Katie Cassidy from (TV series) “Arrow” and Bella Thorne, who’s on the Disney Channel.

Who do you think has stepped up their fashion game recently?

I think Nina Dobrev always looks good. She looked good before but I think she’s really been turning it out lately. What I’m really interested in seeing is a lot of these new girls in the “Bling Ring,” like Katie Chang. We saw her at I think Jill Stuart looking really cute. It’s always interesting to see these women who are really new to the celebrity Fashion Week game and how they handle it. I think she looked great at all of the events recently and we may see big things from her.

Do you see any really young starlet right now who is going to be the next Zoe Saldana, Rachel Bilson or Sienna Miller and really be known for her fashion?

I think I’m really interested to see what happens to the other girl who was in the “Bling Ring.” Her name is Claire Julien. She had great stuff at Cannes – I think a custom Pucci gown.

Who’s your personal style icon?

I would say Diane Kruger because she’s one of those people who is a great risk taker. Sometimes that doesn’t work, but she’s never boring.

What have been the regrettable trends of the 2010s so far?

I’m already over the crop top. We saw a ton of them last year we’re seeing them again this season. When Lily Collins did her press junket for “The Mortal Instruments,” she wore seven crop tops in three days or something.

That’s like three and a half shirts.

Yeah, exactly. She did give a funny quote about how they take up less room in the suitcase and that’s why she likes them, but I’m already over the crop top. I think they’re very difficult to do in an elegant way for the average person. Obviously Karlie Kloss looks great in them, but she could go out in a barrel and look great. For the rest of us, it’s not a good idea. And they seem to be trying to bring back dresses over pants, which I also think is not a good idea.

Yes, that’s how you began the blog right? With a post about Sienna Miller wearing a dress over pants?

Yes! To see it coming back is a little disconcerting. We already fought this battle.

Would you say there are any trends that nobody can pull off?

No. No matter how crazy something is, there will be one person who can pull it off. There’s a special unicorn out there for everything.

You know – I think there might be one. I think it’s the super, super short high-waisted, high fashion hot pants. Kerry Washington wore them on the cover of a magazine, Nina Dobrev wore them inside Cosmo and they’re basically high fashion diapers. Not even the beautiful Kerry Washington could pull it off.

What’s your fashion pet peeve?

I think it’s people wearing stuff that doesn’t fit them. No one knows what size it is. You don’t need to squeeze into a 4 if a 6 would be great. Who cares what size it is? You look so much better if your clothes fit.

I know you love “90210” and “Dynasty.” Do you see any current TV shows reaching that level of fashion influence?

I think what they’re doing on “Pretty Little Liars” is really, really creative. That is a show that, even though I have no idea what’s going on plot-wise, I do always want to see what people are wearing. I wish “Revenge” was more over the top. I think the nighttime scenes are tailor-made for Dynasty-esque drama in terms of fashion, so hopefully this season they’re going to pump it up a little bit.
