‘Game of Thrones’ IMAX run pushed back because you want it too much

Nice going, guys. You got too excited and scared them off. Remember that “Game of Thrones” IMAX special coming later this month? Where they’re going to show the last two episodes from last season plus debut the trailer for the new season on the largest screen possible? Yeah, well you’re going to have to wait a bit longer, as IMAX and HBO have decided to push the start date of the run back by a week because the demand for the screenings is greater than expected.

You’ll still get to see the big battle at the Wall and the Hound duke it out with Brienne of Tarth on a massive, massive screen, only now you won’t be able to until Jan. 29. The screenings will run until Feb. 5, with the included episodes digitally remastered for IMAX presentation.

The good news, though, is that tickets go on sale this Friday at IMAX’s site, and they’re adding more theaters beyond the initial 150-screen run.To date, confirmed cities include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, San Antonio, Seattle, Toronto and Washington, D.C., with more to come. So get excited! Just not too excited, or you might spook them again.
