Woof, I don't envy George Clooney's friends. They had a terrible choice to make on Sunday: Spend the day with their moms for Mother's Day, or slip away to attend George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's engagement party. On the one hand, a glittering group of A-listers; on the other, your mother realizing you'd rather hang out with George Clooney than with her.

Among those who chose the Cloon were supermodel Cindy Crawford, who co-hosted the event at her Malibu restaurant Cafe Habana, according to the Daily Mail. Crawford is a longtime Clooney pal, and she and her husband Rande Gerber often double date with Clooney and his arm candy du jour.

Other guests include Bono, who could be a friend of bride or groom — he shares Clooney's passion for human rights, and Alamuddin, of course, is a human rights lawyer.

According to the Mirror, it was longtime bachelor Clooney who pursued Alamuddin initially. After she refused to give him her phone number at the charity event where they met, Clooney sent her an email joking that the "reported hottest man in the world should meet with the hottest human rights lawyer in the world."
