Dancing as Clara in this year's "The Nutcracker" with American Ballet Theater, 28-year-old Sarah Lane has come a long way since she first donned a tutu at age 4. You may have already seen her en pointe as Natalie Portman's double in 2010's blockbuster film, "Black Swan." But we thought you might want to learn more, so we asked her a few questions we ask all rising NYC stars we think you should know better:

What's the best advice you use?

"The right thing to do is usually the hardest thing to do." I guess that's a good motto to live by. Sometimes when thing get really hard, you just have to keep pushing through it -- and never be lazy and never give up.

What's your favorite dish to cook for yourself when you're not in a rush?

Actually, I love steamed broccoli dipped in mayonnaise. I used to love artichoke growing up; I'm such a green freak, I love that sort of thing.

What's your prized possession?

My apartment -- and my car.

What's your favorite song ever?

One summer we listened to that song "Airplanes" a lot; my husband and I would play that CD and lay out in the sun in Spain.

What's your favorite word?

I think "grace" is a good word to describe a lot of things -- not just ballet, but I think as a person you have to have a lot of grace and give a lot of grace.

What was your best date?

My best date was probably the first date that I went on with my husband. He pretended like he just happened to be on the same subway platform I was on, but he was actually waiting there for me. And we went to see a movie.

Now that you've been interviewed a bunch, who would you want to interview?

Outside of the field of ballet, I love Rafael Nadal the tennis player. It would be cool to sit down with him and see how he gets over the pressure that the media puts on him.

If you had to pick one fast-food chain to eat at for the rest of your life, which one would it be?

Arby’s. That’s weird, that’s random, but I’ve always liked their java milkshakes!
