Inside the fancy new Wall Street Duane Reade (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, Duane Reade debuted its new flagship store on 40 Wall St., which boasts services and amenities we would never expect from the place. (We usually only go to DR for paper towels.) Since it’s on the same block as our office, we stopped by to check it out.

Forget Maybelline mascara — at the beauty section you can have a hair and scalp analysis by Phyto Universe and skin analysis by Philips Crystalize. There’s also a nail and brow service for quick lunch hour touch-ups. Duane Reade’s “Find Your Look” kiosk is a cool way of seeing if a lipstick shade works for you before purchasing the product. All you do is have your photo taken, scan in the bar code, and within seconds, a digital image appears, showing how you would look rocking peach blush or magenta lipstick.

But what we really see ourselves stopping by on a regular basis is the “Up Market” food section. Nested neatly between the store’s entrances on Pine and Wall Street is a mini food court that includes a sushi station, juice market, and a Coca-Cola “Freestyle” machine that dispenses 130 varieties of Coca Cola fountain drinks. Bonus: The selection of food products features natural and organic goods, along with international labels and local New York brands, such as The Brooklyn Salsa Company and the Fat Witch Bakery. You know where to find us.
