Jennifer Garner doesn’t want your pity about her divorce

Yes, Ben Affleck has a big superhero movie coming out next week, so he’s doing a lot of interviews that inevitably lead to mentions of his split from Jennifer Garner. But did we mention she also has a movie coming out?

Which is why, following that in-depth Vanity Fair interview, she’s not quite done offering glimpses into what the last year of her life has been like. For instance, the “Today” show’s Savannah Guthrie observed to her that it must be extra difficult to “go through something like that in the public eye” — and without a hint of irony!

But Garner doesn’t want your pity. “You know what? It’s not easy to go through it, period. I have found going through it in the public eye, it’s just another facet of it. For anyone, when your life shifts in any way, it’s tricky enough,” she says. “But I have found people to be so warm and loving that it hasn’t been nearly as bad as you might imagine.”
