Jon Stewart will hug out the end of ‘The Daily Show’

The sad march toward a world without Jon Stewart tucking us into bed on“The Daily Show” continues, with yesterday’s program bringing us one step closer to the end of a political and comedic era.

At the end of Monday’s show, Stewart revealed that his final night behind the desk after 16 yearswould be August6. He promised to wear a suit and shower for the occasion, which will involve one lucky fan getting a set visit, a hug and, our decade’s most prized of all celebrity swag, a selfie with Stewart.

Better hope he’s as ready to leave the show as he claims and there are no tears, because we gotta be honest — we’re only holding it together about this as long as he is.
