“Smash” star Katharine McPhee has some explaining to do.
Pictures surfaced yesterday of McPhee kissing “Smash” director Michael Morris. Both are married, and not even a little bit to each other – the 29-year-old “Smash” actress is married to producer Nick Cokas, 47, and Morris is married to actress Mary McCormack, 44. Morris and McCormack have three children.
Scandal! Or, I don’t know, scandal? The kiss (E! Online has the photo) looks less like “We are sinners caught in a web of steamy betrayal” and more like “Don’t forget to pick up milk, honey.” So either infidelity is way more boring than I ever imagined, or we’re about to learn that both married couples were already separated. I really hope it’s the latter. Morris and McCormack have three kids. Ugh, it’s too early in the morning to get sad about strangers’ marriages.
Neither party has commented yet. Good thing “Smash” is already canceled, otherwise this would be an awkward morning at work for everybody. Also it’s just generally a good thing that “Smash” is canceled.
