Lena Dunham has certainly had better weekends. The “Girls” creator was hospitalized for a ruptured ovarian cyst, a condition that required surgery, her reps confirm in a statement.

“Lena Dunham has been very public with her personal bouts with endometriosis. This morning, she suffered from an ovarian cyst rupture and has been taken to the hospital,” her rep said Saturday. “Lena will be undergoing surgery at an undisclosed hospital. We thank you for your understanding and hope that Lena’s privacy will be respected.”

Here’s hoping Dunham — who has been sitting out press activity for the new season of “Girls” due to her condition — has a speedy recovery.
