Listen: Jay-Z releases ‘Open Letter’ to address his haters

So what does Jay-Z do when he feels the heat? He writes some beats.

Jay-Z made headlines in the last few weeks for his trip to Cuba with Beyonce and him wanting to become a sports agent, but that would mean selling his shares of the Brooklyn Nets (shares, of which he own very few).

So what does Jay-Z do when he feels the heat? He writes some beats.

Jay-Z’s and Beyonce’s anniversary trip to Cuba raised eyebrows with Florida politicians. It was later revealed by Reuters that the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control licensed the trip as a “people-to-people” cultural visit.

As for the Nets, Jay-Z announced he was creating Roc Nation, a sports agency group and that Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano would be his first client. It later surfaced that the rapper would be selling his shares of the Nets. According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, Jay-Z’s share of the Brooklyn basketball team is worth roughly $350,00.

The self-described “Bob Dylan of rap music” released a track called “Open Letter” addressing his haters.

Here’s what he has to say about Cuba, “Obama said, ‘Chill you’re going to get me impeached’/ You don’t need this shit anyway, chill with me on the beach.”

The White House press secretary was asked to comment about the song.

“I guess nothing rhymes with Treasury … It’s a song. The president did not communicate with Jay-Z over this trip.”

As for the Nets: “I woulda move the Nets to Brooklyn for free / Except I made million off you fucking dweebs.”

Listen to the song below and tell us what you think.
