Tired of Miley Cyrus yet? No? Good, as the pop starlet is on the cover of the new Harper’s Bazaar, looking demure in aBurberry Prorsum dress — but then again, maybe she looks good because we’re not used to seeing her actually wearingclothing.
The article doesn’t mention The Twerk Heard Around the World™ (I’m guessing the interview was done before her infamous performance at the VMAs)but she does coyly mention trying to become omnipresent. And, as we all know by now, it’s working.
“It’s been a year since I started trying to take over the world,” the actress told the mag. It began with her infamous haircut which, she says, “changed everyone else’s life more than it changed mine.”
And who do we have to thank for this new Miley? None other than her “makeover mentor”Pharrell Williams, whom she calls her “rock.””His philosophy is that it’s not what you’re wearing, it’s the way you wear it. It’s not about the music you’re making, it’s how you’re making it.”
She says he encouraged her styling in the “We Can’t Stop” video too. “I feel like every girl is trying to have a beauty shot and prove that they’re ‘fashion.’ But I can be in white leggings and a white sports bra and I’m on a whole other level of sh— that those girls don’t even get yet because they don’t know how to do it.”
And in a rare display of maturity, Cyrus opens up about why she acts the way she does.“I was an adult when I was supposed to be a kid. So now I’m an adult and I’m acting like a kid.” Which: Super deep, Miley. Maybe there is a method to your madness after all?
