Many have speculated that the Church of Scientology played a major role in negotiating the divorce between Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, but Cruise’s lawyer, Bert Fields, says that’s far from accurate. “Somebody said the Scientologists were directing the negotiations, and that is absolute hogwash. There was no Scientologist present, I wasn’t on the phone with Scientologists. Scientologists played no part of role in the negotiations between the lawyers,” Fields tells People magazine, adding that Cruise was more concerned with what would happen to the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, Suri. “Tom was always most interested in his child,” Fields says. “His concern was for Suri.”
Thought it’s been little more than a month since they announced their engagement, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are reportedly much more interested in planning a family than planning a wedding, according to Us Weekly. “Miley and Liam really want to have a baby quickly,” a source says. “They are both mature and ready for this. Miley is 19 going on 40.”
Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger are settling into life living in Paris, and they couldn’t be happier, the “Fringe” star tells People magazine. “The most romantic thing about Paris for me is just walking around and being immersed in the city,” Jackson says. “Because Diane has lived there for so long and we have an apartment there, the most romantic part of our day is waking up in our own neighborhood and going down to a cafe and just having breakfast — which is a really quotidian thing to do, but to do it in that city is pretty nice.”
Anne Hathaway is enjoying the ultra-short haircut she’s sporting from filming “Les Miserables,” but it definitely took some getting used to. “I wasn’t expecting it to be such a big deal, because it was my idea,” she tells Kelly Ripa during an interview. “I’ve now done backflips out of windows, I’ve jumped off buildings, and cutting my hair reduced me to, like, mental patient-level crying. Michelle Williams hurried home from her visit to San Diego Comic-Con for some quality time with daughter Matilda, 6, and boyfriend Jason Segel, according to Us Weekly. The pair were spotted Saturday taking in a matinee of the Broadway show “Jersey Boys” before heading back to Brooklyn for an early dinner and a stroll. Sources say Segel has been bonding with Matilda over the past few months. “He’s been doing all sorts of ‘dad stuff’ with her, like drawing and playing music,” a source previously told the magazine about the actor. “I never thought Jason would ever date someone with a kid. But he’s taking everything in stride. He’s ready to be a grown-up.”
It looks like Lindsay Lohan is going to be a big sister again, as Michael Lohan’s on-again, off-again girlfriend, Kate Major, is pregnant, according to TMZ, suggesting that the couple is on again. Major and Lohan became engaged in 2010, but Lohan was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence the next year, earning a restraining order. Oddly enough, the retraining order was lifted a couple of weeks ago, while Major is reportedly more than a couple of weeks pregnant. A rep for the couple confirmed the pregnancy.
