While news of George Clooney and Stacy Keibler’s split may have come as a surprise to some, the writing had apparently been on the wall for quite some time for their doomed relationship, according to Us Weekly. “They hadn’t had sex in months,” a source says. “He’s been in Europe, and she’s in L.A., and they haven’t seen each other in a long time. Some girls would be OK with that and just be happy dating George, but not her.” According to TMZ.com, the two ended their contract, erm, relationship, over the phone.
You know, being George Clooney’s arm candy really does wonders for your status in life. Back in 2002, Keibler was just a WWE wrester who listed “table dances” as some of her on-stage moves. And now she’s been on the red carpet of the Oscars twice and will host her own television show, “Supermarket Superstars,” on Lifetime (it premieres on July 22; what a coincidence!).
I will hand it to Keibler — she’s been able to parlay being George Clooney’s plus-one into her celebrity career of her own better than most.
