The MTV VMAs 2017 took place Sunday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California and featured some of the biggest names in music, who gathered for the event.

Katy Perry made her hosting debut during the MTV VMAs, and started the show by “landing” on stage dressed as an astronaut complete a shimmery space suit and a "moonwoman" belt.

This year, MTV decided to change the "Moonman" trophy to "Moon Person" to make the award gender-neutral and promote inclusion in the music industry.

The biggest winner of the night was Kendrick Lamar. The Compton rapper was nominated in eight categories and won six VMAs Sunday night.

Despite DJ Khaled and Rihanna's hit song "Wild Thoughts" being one of the summer's most catchy tunes, Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3" won the VMA for "Best Song of the Summer." You can thank millennials for that.

In case you missed the VMAs because you were busy watching the Season 7 finale of “Game of Thrones,” or if you were still recovering from all the excitement of the Floyd Mayweather – Conor McGregor fight on Saturday, here is the full list of nominees and winners from the MTV VMAs 2017.
