Despite rumors to the contrary, Santana Lopez is alive and well and still on "Glee."
Rumors spread this month that actress Naya Rivera, who portrays former cheerleader Santana, would be let go from the show following spats with producers and costar Lea Michele. However, Fox released a statement on Saturday night saying it's not so."There is no truth to the rumor Naya has been fired from the show," the Fox Network told The Associated Press, adding, "She remains under contract to 'Glee.'"
Hmm, still sounds a little cagey, no? If Rivera was looking for assurance that she continues to be a cherished member of the "Glee" family, hearing that she "remains under contract" probably won't do much to assuage her fears. E! Online confirms that Rivera won't appear in the season finale, but that doesn't necessarily mean much — "Glee" has always had a fluid cast. Still, probably wouldn't hurt for Rivera to perform a duet with the Fox executives. That's how grievances are settled in "Glee" world.
Poor Naya seems to be having a rotten spring. She recently broke off her engagement to rapper Big Sean, and briefly posted a tweet suggesting he'd stolen a watch from her. Hope she has a restful summer.
