The Word: ‘NSYNC have mixed feelings about VMA reunion

Yesterday, I wrote about how personally butthurt I felt about the way Justin “Too Good for the Little People Now That I Roll with Jay Z” Timberlake gave his ex-‘NSYNC bandmates the shaft at their big VMA “reunion.” I wasn’t the only one with mixed feelings.

According to US Magazine, Chris Kirpatrick and the rest of the old gang were just a tad miffed over the whole dragging them back into the spotlight only to promptly turn it off (HA HA JK GUYS GOOD JOKE, THIS WAS FUN THOUGH AMIRIGHT?) on live television. But they did their darndest to put up a good front and act like it was all NBD or whatevs.

“It was funny because all of us getting back together, we remembered what we love about each other and what we hate about each other,” Kirkpatrick said, methodically sticking pins into a voodoo doll he’d crafted from tufts of impossibly silky blonde hair he’d collected from Timberlake’s dressing room while the megastar was accepting his big award. “It was just a bit of fun.”

OK, obviously I’m kidding about that whole hair doll thing. There’s no way they’d let Kirkpatrick within 15 feet of Timberlake’s dressing room.

Lance Bass didn’t have much to say on the whole subject, short of that he’d reportedly felt really “nauseous” the whole time. Whether this was due to stage fright (it’s been awhile!) or the noxious odor of resentment and defeat (kind of like rotten eggs and cheap cologne) is unclear.
