David Burke at Bloomingdale's (1000 Third Ave., 212-705-300) is hosting a burger-eating contest this Saturday — whoever eats the Double Juicy Burkey Burger in the shortest amount of time wins a drink named in his or her honor, a photo on the wall of fame, the chef's burger recipe, plus beef patties to try out the recipe at home. Sign ups are $15.

Get in the Green
San Diego's Green Flash Brewery is taking over 172 taps on its five-day tour of New York, April 11-15. On the calendar are a Thursday kickoff party at Barcade (388 Union Ave. Brooklyn, 718-302-6464), a Park Slope pub crawl on Saturday and a paired brunch at Alewife (5-14 51st Ave Long Island City, 718-937-7494) on Sunday. Meet Japan's Julia Child
Elizabeth Andoh, who's been called the Julia Child of Japan, will share recipes from her new book about tonight at Japan Society (333 East 47th St., 212-715-1258). Taste foods and sakes from the region of Japan hit by by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Tickets are $16 or $12 Japan Society members, seniors and students.
Happy Grilled Cheese Day!
The gooey gourmet gods at Little Muenster ( 100 Stanton St., 212-203-7197; 145 Front St., DUMBO, 646-499-4331) are offering a free can of Narragansett or cup of tomato soup when you pop by either location on Friday, Grilled Cheese Day. There will also be surprise giveaways and the unveiling of a special new sandwich (word on the street is it's sriracha-based).
The last wine classes at Terroir Park Slope (284 Fifth Ave., 718-832-9463) were met with much enthusiasm, so the wine bar is at it again with a new series of lessons, kicking off this Monday. Monday's class will be on wines from the Loire Valley in France, and down the road expect teachings on Chianti, Rioja, Duoro Valley and other vino hot spots.
