“Vinyl” star Olivia Wilde stepped behind the camera to direct the Red Hot Chili Peppers’s latest “Dark Necessities” from their latest “The Getaway.” She worked with cinematographer Chris Blauvelt to create the moody environment featuring a girl gang of famed long boarders, Carmen Shafer, Amanda Caloia, Amanda Powell and Noelle Mulligan.
"It was an honor and a thrill to create this video with such wonderful artists, who happen to make up one of the greatest bands of all time," says Wilde in a statement.
"Dark Necessities" is the band's 11th studio release and dropped today from Warner Bros Records. It follows their 2011 Grammy-nominated album, "I'm With You."
