One Direction certainly knows how to make a summer Friday even sweeter. The band released a surprise new track this morning, their first song without Zayn Malik. The track is titled “Drag Me Down” and even though it has been out for mere hours, it is already the number one song on iTunes.

Despite being down a member, the song is strong, with an upbeat tempo that makes it party ready. With lyrics like “Nobody can drag me down,” it’s natural to wonder if the boys are throwing shade at Malik for leaving the band, but listening to the song in its entirety, it’s clear it is written with a special girl in mind.

So far, Malik hasn’t commented on the new One Direction single. Instead he’s been tweeting about his newly signed solo deal with RCA Records. “I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who I really am. #realmusic #RCA !!” he tweeted Wednesday.
