Forty million people date online, so it’s safe to say that meeting online is the new normal. Now Bravo wants to give you online dating from a male point of view with their new show “Online Dating Rituals of the American Male.” The show will follow a bunch of guys while they try to find love, sex or something else online.

One of the show’s eligible bachelors is 33-year-old Ephraim Hirschfeld, from Marina del Rey, California.
Hirschfeld says online dating is a matter of convenience. “I have a 9-year-old son, who I have almost full-time. I simply didn’t have a lot of time for going out to meet people.”
Hirschfeld started dating online at the end of 2010, and his favorite site is Match.com. The first time he went on there, he dated the first girl who wrote him for over a year.
“So I figured why not go back to [Match.com] again,” he laughs. At first Hirschfeld didn’t tell his friends that he was online dating. He’s a lot less shy about it now that he is on a TV show about it, though.
As for his online dating techniques, he’s basically just following his best judgment. “I usually read what a woman has written and try to understand if we are a good match. I’m trying to make it clear that I’ve read what she’s written and taken the time to understand who she is, and I’ll make a thoughtful reply.”
Catch an episode of “Online Dating Rituals of the American Male” tonight and the following Thursdays at 10 on Bravo.
