It’s a sad day in the world of dog actors.
Uggie, the beloved Jack Russell and the star of the 2011 film ‘The Artist,’ has died. Uggie was 13 years old.
After a long battle with a prostate tumor, Uggie was put to sleep on August 7.
His owner Omar von Muller made an official announcement on Facebook shortly after TMZ first broke the story.
Uggie was best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film “The Artist.” He was the first dog to leave his footprints outside the Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.
