"Thom Yorke" and "showtunes" aren't usually words that go together, but the Radiohead singer is lending his musical talents to theater by composing the music for Harold Pinter's play, "Old Times." The play is about a woman who visits her ex-roommate, who is now married. Even though they were great friends, the wife never mentioned the friend to her husband, and throughout the course of her visit, many old stories and secrets come out.
“In true Thom Yorke-style, the music is epic, heartbreaking, irresistible and complex. I’m hopeful this collaboration will result in a new kind of theatregoer coming to our show,” director Douglas Hodge says.
Previews for the play begin September 17 at the American Airlines Theatre.
