Remembering the twin towers on-screen

Looking back at the World Trade Center's decades-long side career as a movie landmark.

Before they came down, the twin towers were an instantly iconic landmark, a striking visual shorthand -- two enormous, identical, perfect rectangles -- for the enormous scale of New York City. Directors loved them; if a character wanted to move to the big city, they seemed to say, they'd better be prepared to dream as big as the towers.

Cartoonist and director Dan Meth feels the same way, and so to memorialize the towers he's made a montage of three decades' worth of WTC cameos. Check it out below:
