The Word: Robin Thicke's surprising claim about Miley Cyrus' VMA performance
Everybody was strong opinions on Miley Cyrus's risque performance at the VMAs with Robin Thicke. Everyone, that is, except Robin Thicke, who claims he missed it.
Everybody was strong opinions on Miley Cyrus's risque performance at the Video Music Awards with Robin Thicke. Everyone, that is, except Robin Thicke, who claims he missed it.
"I didn’t see [the VMA performance] because I was onstage singing my ass off," Thicke told Vanity Fair. "They told me [beforehand] that Miley’s going to take her clothes off and dance around and she might bend over. … I just said, I don’t care, let’s entertain the people. Let’s give them something they’re not ready for, let’s make them talk."
Thicke also brushed off rumors that he'd been unfaithful to his wife, actress Paula Patton. "Seventy-five percent of my songs are about how much I love my wife and how much I need her. We’ve been married for eight years, and together since we were 16. We’re very lucky to have the greatest friendship; we’re John and Yoko — whatever that is — that’s who she is to me."
The rumors started after this picture made the rounds, showing Thicke very thoroughly groping a female fan's butt.
That fan has since spoken out — and it seems like things got even busier than a little butt squeeze.Lana Scolaro, 20,reveals toLife & Stylethat not only did she hook up with Thicke, but she did it withPattonjust a few feet away.“I don’t think he cared what she thought,” she says.“I was with him the whole night!"
