South America's biggest concert event is taking a belated Spring Break trip to the north, taking over Las Vegas for two weekends next May.
Rock in Rio USA will make the trek to the U.S. for the first time, coming to Las Vegas on May 8-9 and 15-16 for its 30th anniversary. Headlining the concert will be Taylor Swift, No Doubt,Linkin Park and Metallica in a specially built "City of Rock," an open-air venue on the Strip.
The announcement was accompanied by a Times Square concert of dueling Johns — John Legend, who performed with Les Tambour du Bronx lined up behind him and Sepultura in front, followed by a much more low-key set from John Mayer of "No Such Thing" and "Gravity."
