Call it unfortunate timing.

The cast of the 23rd season of “Dancing with the Stars” was official revealed on “Good Morning America” Tuesday and featured some familiar faces. Amber Rose… Rick Perry… Vanilla Ice… oh, and disgraced Olympian Ryan Lochte. The swimmer, who most recently was in hot water following an incident report gone sour in Rio, says his casting was agreed upon before the debacle, noting,” I’m not one to make excuses, but I was still intoxicated. I was still going through the emotions of having a gun pulled on me.”

The 32-year-old, who will be paired with dancer Cheryl Burke, is described as a “transcendent figure in the Olympic World” in the bio provided by ABC, but he was quick to address his past fibs during the morning interview. “I reached out to Jimmy [Feigen] saying, ‘I know you had to pay that fine. It is my fault.’ I’m taking full responsibility for this, and I will pay that back, if he will let me,” he said of his 26-year-old teammate who paid $11,000 to leave Brazil following their crime.

But still — Lochte wants everyone to just get over it already: “Everyone’s got to be sick and tired of hearing about this. I know I am,” he added. “I just want to move forward and…put on my dancing shoes. Or at least try to!”

You try, Ryan Lochte. You can definitely try.
