Someone stole that awesome Lupita Nyong’o Oscars dress

This is just terrible. Remember that ridiculously pretty dress Lupita Nyong’o wore to the Oscars last weekend? The one made from more than 6,000 Akoya pearls? Well, according to TMZ, someone broke into her hotel room at the London in West Hollywood on Tuesday and stole it. Yes, just walked out of the hotel with it. The gown, by Calvin Klein Collection, is said to be worth about $150,000. Police are currently investigating, and there is said to be security footage of the crime as it happened.

Hopefully designers won’t hold this incident against Nyong’o, who has become something of a red carpet fashion plate since she came on the scene for “12 Years a Slave,” as that’s a trend that should totally continue.
