It’s a long-standing joke that the Oscars is the whitest night in Hollywood. And last night this was especially true, with alabaster being the biggest color trend of the evening.
First up: Johnny Weir andTara Lipinski, who wore coordinating white and gold outfits. Weir told New York Mag that, true to form, he had to be different in his fashion choices for the night. “If I showed up to the Oscars in a black tuxedo with a black tie, it wouldn’t be authentic, it wouldn’t be me, and I would feel like a penguin,” he said on his decision to wear this outfit, which he described as “tux-ish.” To complement her man,Olympic-winning figure skater Lipinski donned thiswhite sleeveless Rani Zakhem gown with a little princess train.
Another matching couple, looking resplendent despite their neutral tones, were Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves, both in Dolce & Gabbana: Alves in alight pink gown withMcConaughey in a stylized tux by the designers.
