It was a suspenseful night for our semifinalists and a bit of a homecoming for last season’s finalists. Rascal Flatts opened up the show with their hit single “Rewind.”

The first artist saved was Blake Shelton’s authentic country singer Jake Worthington.

Jackie Lee, the powerful pop singer from Team Christina and Season 5’s runner-up, returned to sing her song “Broken Ones.” Following Jackie was Will Champlin from Season 5’s Team Adam, who gave an electric performance of his hit song “Eye of the Pyramid.”

The second artist saved and moving on to the finals was Usher’s soul man Josh Kaufman.

Team Adam’s Jamaican soul singer and last season’s winner, Tessanne Chin, sang her newest song “Everything Reminds Me of You.” Tessanne, Will and Jackie will begin the first-ever Voice Tour on June 24.

The bottom three artists put it all out on the stage as they sang for the final spot of the season. Kristen Merlin (Team Shakira) raised her voice for Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away.”

Kat Perkins (Team Adam) once again laid it all on the line, but this time with a country song, singing Underwood’s “Good Girl.” Kat sang her way through the last two eliminations, but is this cat running out of lives?

Finally, Christina Grimmie (Team Adam) sang for her life with OneRepublic’s “Apologize.” Adam made a bold statement in his plea to America, saying, “If you get Christina to the finals, she’s going to win.”

In the end, America instantly saved Christina Grimmie.
