They said it wouldn't last — mostly because of that separation almost a year ago. And now, more than a year later, Kris and Bruce Jenner have officially filed for divorce, and much like everything else in their E!-sponsored, reality show life, they're going to work this one out in public. According to court documents "obtained" by E! News, the couple is calling it quits over irreconcilable differences and seeking joint custody of their last remaining kid at home, 17-year-old Kylie Jenner, and they list the official separation date as June 1, 2013. Which is actually pretty noteworthy, since they didn't officially announce it until last October. Do you understand the uncharacteristic levels of restraint and discretion it must've taken them to keep quiet about something for four whole months? That's just not like them.
Leonard Cohen celebrates 80th with a smoke
Leonard Cohen has wanted a cigarette for a long, long time, and now he's going to have one. The legendary singer-songwriter turned 80 this weekend, and to celebrate he's planning to take up smoking again, a habit he kicked when he was in his fifties. "Quite seriously, does anyone know where you can buy a Turkish or Greek cigarette?" he says, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I’m looking forward to that first smoke. I've been thinking about that for 30 years. It's one of the few consistent strings of thoughts I've been able to locate."
Internet trolls react as expected to Emma Watson
Well, this is just depressing. Emma Watson's impressive speech on feminism and gender equality at the United Nations Monday was greeted by the murkier corners of the Internet with a sadly predictable response. Posters to the site 4Chan went apoplectic, littering a message board there with insults, threats of violence and doctored news items claiming Watson had died in a hotel room. Most notably, one user threatened to release illegally obtained nude photos of the actress in retaliation to her speech, going so far as to set up a site counting down to the supposed release. Oh, Internet. This is why we can't have nice things.
Taylor Swift has a few fans over

Taylor Swift shocked and delighted 35 of her biggest fans by giving them a surprise private listening session of her new album, "1989," at her Los Angeles home — after they'd been vetted by security and had their phones confiscated, of course. Each of the fans happily posted souvenir Polaroids of themselves with Swift to Twitter and Tumblr following the event and shared some of the more interesting details — like the fact that Swift stopped the session briefly to hand out pumpkin chocolate chip cookies she'd baked herself, or that she gave in-depth back stories for each song before singing along and acting out parts of them in front of the assembled fans. According to one fan, Swift even described her relationship with One Direction member Harry Style in the most Taylor Swift way possible: "She described it like trying to build a fire out of two twigs and everyone is yelling at the fire, 'I hate you, fire!' and blowing out the sparks."
Jonas Brothers overshare
The Joe Jonas may have broken up as a band, but the brothers themselves are still apparently all about sharing with each other. Maybe a little too much, actually, as middle brother Joe Jonas has reportedly started dating model Gigi Hadid — who previously dated youngest brother Nick Jonas, according to Radar Online. "Nick and Gigi dated several times in 2012 and 2013," a source says. "Joe and Gigi have hung out a few times this week actually. They have visited a museum together and even went to the park together." Sounds … scintillating. Oh, and Hadid is apparently good friends with Joe's unfortunately named ex-girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler, though maybe not for much longer. "Blanda is absolutely furious," the source adds.
