At least one lucky rich person wants to say "I'm flying, Jack! No, really, flying in space," badly enough to bid $1.5 million for it, according to Us Weekly. At a Cannes Film Festival charity auction last night, which benefits AmFAR Cinema Against AIDS, a seat aboard the Virgin Galactic with a mystery guest was auctioned off. The mystery guest turned out to be DiCaprio.

I have to say, I find it a little disturbing that anyone needs the additional incentive of hanging out with a celebrity to induce them to go to space. It is freaking space. Leo may be a star, but space has all the actual stars.

DiCaprio recently starred in "The Great Gatsby," and described the challenges of bringing his own version of the character to life. “Everyone has an interpretation of who these characters are,” says Leonardo DiCaprio, who stresses the Robert Redford comparisons further by playing mystery millionaire Jay Gatsby, as Redford did in the 1974 film adaptation. “The Gatsby I remember reading when I was 15 years old is far different the Gatsby I read as an adult,” he says. “What I remember from junior high was this hopeless romantic, who was solely in love with this one woman, who created this great amount of wealth to respectfully hold her hand.
