Tim Curry, star of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” suffered a major stroke in his LA home last night.
Curry, 67, collapsed last night and was rushed to the hospital, but he’s now recovering well, according to the Daily Mail.
“Tim is doing great,” said Curry’s agent Marcia Hurwitz.“He absolutely can speak and is recovering at this time and in great humour.”
Though still best known for his role as Dr. Frank N. Furter in “Rocky Horror,” Curry has had a long and respected film and stage career. For the last few years he’s focused largely on voice work for films and TV shows such as “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Young Justice.”
In 2011, he was slated to star in a production of Tom Stoppard’s “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead,” but had to withdraw citing ill health. Reportedly, he was suffering serious asthma attacks following a bout of bronchitis.
Hopefully Curry’s recovery will proceed well and he’ll continue to creep us out in beautifully weird roles for decades to come.
