‘Arguendo’
This new creation from the Elevator Repair Service (“Gatz”) is a theatrical presentation of the 1991 Supreme Court case Barnes v. Glen Theatre opening Tuesday, Sept. 24. They use the entire oral argument, verbatim, as the foundation of this new work about a group of exotic dancers challenging a ban on public nudity. John Collins directs. ‘Stop.Reset.’
It’s your last chance to see ReGina Taylor’s “Stop.Reset” at the Signature Theatre this coming Sunday, Sept. 29. The owner of Chicago’s oldest African-American book-publishing company must question each of his employees to determine who is still relevant and is forced to discover just how far he will go to survive in the rapidly changing e-book world. ‘The Two Character Play’
Closing next Sunday, Sept. 29, is “The Two Character Play” by Tennessee Williams at New World Stages. A brother and sister find themselves deserted by their acting troupe and forced to perform without them.
