The world’s most famous reality TV star, Kim Kardashian West, was tied up, gagged and robbed of nearly $10 million of jewelry at her hotel during Paris Fashion Week. The wife and mother of two was physically unharmed, but rightfully scared out of her mind. While the reality star has her share of detractors, the incident has prompted an outpouring of support from other celebrities on Twitter.
Kim’s longtime friend, Chrissy Teigen posted a series of tweets about empathy and compassion for those living in the spotlight. Responding to cruel jokes made at KK’s expense, the model said:
Some shit just isn't funny. I see you trying, but it isn't.— christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) October 3, 2016
James Corden, host of “The Late Late Show” and its wildly popular Carpool Karaoke segment, chimed in:
People making jokes about @KimKardashian tonight would do well to remember that she's a mother,a daughter,a wife,a friend.Be nice or shut up— James Corden (@JKCorden) October 3, 2016
“Trailer Park Boys” star Jonathan Torrens clapped at haters as well:
I think I have a pretty good handle on what's funny.— Jonathan Torrens (@TorrensJonathan) October 3, 2016
Kim Kardashian being held captive & robbed at gunpoint is not. Stop it with the jokes.
Tony-winning singer Cynthia Erivo considered not only the robbery, but the Hollywood “prankster” that attempted to move in on Kim earlier last week, tweeting,
Glad @KimKardashian is ok! No human being deserves the treatment she's had this week.— Cynthia Erivo (@CynthiaEriVo) October 3, 2016
She later had to defend her tweet with the following:
To those who have an issue with me wishing well @KimKardashian deal with it! I am well aware of her privilege, I also note that she is human— Cynthia Erivo (@CynthiaEriVo) October 3, 2016
Meanwhile producer Diplo stirred the pot with this messy tweet:
Taylor robbed kim— dip (@diplo) October 3, 2016
We're not laughing Diplo.
