Thor and Loki return to NYC (kind of) in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

The sons of Asgard are slumming it back on Earth.

Chris Hemsworth, who usually dons a red cape and flashy armor as Avengers member Thor, posted this photo of himself in a hoodie and jeans alongside Tom Hiddleston, who plays his ne’er-do-well stepbrother Loki, on the set of Thor: Ragnarokin Brisbane on Monday.

The pair apparently weren’t just taking a photo before filming began. According to local news stations, the gods of thunder and mischief were dressed to blend into the crowd on the street, which was decorated to stand in for New York City — which didn’t fare so well the last time these two were on Earth in The Avengers.

Few plot details are known about Ragnarok, which will be released in November 2017. But Marvel has confirmed that Cate Blanchett willmake her franchise debutas Hela, the Norse goddess of death. Which might explain why the brothers seem to have teamed up again — we wouldn’t want to take her on alone, either.
