Despite a heartbreaking divorce from Russell Brand after 14 months of marriage, Katy Perry is keeping positive. “I still believe in love and marriage. I’ve just learned lessons along the way. I regret nothing,” she tells the Hollywood Reporter. Still, it wasn’t easy being on tour while her marriage was suddenly falling apart. “What was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eye sockets and not my false lashes just as I’m about to go up on that ramp and sing ‘Teenage Dream,'” she says. “I had to smack myself across the face and say, ‘These problems are my problems, they are not my audience’s problems, learn to separate that.'”
Alec Baldwin insists he did not punch a photographer in New York recently, but he doesn’t deny making physical contact with the man in question. “There was a person in front of me and he was blocking him. And the guy lunged and almost hit me in the teeth with the lens of the camera. So I just pushed the guy away,” Baldwin says in an interview with Charlie Rose. Baldwin also takes issue with the very nature of paparazzi: “We make ourselves available as an obligation per our contract to our employers to represent the product and help to sell the product. And then when I walk out the door, that’s over,” he insists.
Jim Carrey won’t be taking part in a “Dumb and Dumber” sequel after all, with his rep telling Entertainment Tonight that Carrey had become “increasingly frustrated” at Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s delays in getting the project going. “I would have thought ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ was a no-brainer,” Carrey says in a statement. “After all, it’s implied in the title.” Carrey and co-star Jeff Daniels were all set to return for the sequel, according to co-director Peter Farrelly.
Justin Bieber isn’t always in the mood to indulge his adoring fans, as a group of them learned at the Toronto airport this week while Bieber waited for girlfriend Selena Gomez to arrive, according to Hollyscoop. “Do I not have any right as a human being to sit and wait for my girlfriend?” he asked during a back-and-forth with some of the assembled fans demanding his attention, complaining that they’d been waiting all day to see him. “You say you’re really my fans, why do you do this? I’ve had a long day too. I don’t have to be nicer, you guys are in my face,” Bieber replied.
To hear Sacha Baron Cohen, he has to tread lightly when in the U.S. or risk deportation. “There are towns in certain states that I can’t shoot in. If I get arrested my visa could be taken away,” he tells the Sunday Express in an interview, citing an incident filming “Bruno” in which a hotel manager called the police and Cohen escaped via a fire escape in high heels. But the trouble apparently began when he was making “Borat” years earlier: “They had so many complaints that there was a Middle Eastern man driving through America in an ice-cream van that the FBI assigned a team to us,” Cohen says. TMZ, however, did some digging and insists that none of this is true, and a rep for Cohen denies all the details his client mentioned, stressing that there are no warrants out for Cohen’s arrest in the U.S. and no threats to his Visa status.
“Twilight” star Kristen Stewart has topped Forbes magazine’s list of the highest-earning actresses in Hollywood, beating out the likes of Cameron Diaz, Sandra Bullock, Angelina Jolie and her “Snow White and the Huntsman” co-star Charlize Theron. The 22-year-old Stewart stands at No. 1 with a whopping $34.5 million made in the last year, edging out No. 2 Diaz, who made $34 million. Bullock made $25 million, while Jolie earned $20 million and Theron came in at $18 million. Rounding out the top 10 are Julia Roberts ($16 million), Sarah Jessica Parker ($15 million), Meryl Streep ($12 million), Kristen Wiig ($12 million) and Jennifer Aniston ($11 million).
