Tom Cruise is embroiled in an ugly lawsuit with a tabloid. He’s suing Bauer Publishing, which owns In Touch magazine, over its cover story that he “abandoned” his daughter Suri.
Even if the “Mission Impossible” star wins the suit, it’ll be a mixed victory at best: All sorts of weird revelations about Tom have already been brought to light because of it. By his own admission, he didn’t see Suri for 100 days after the split. (He called her and kept in touch with ex-wife Katie Holmes though.) And the fact that Tom’s staff blamed Katie’s friend and business partner, Jeanne Yang, for many of the anonymous leaks and rumors that hit the tabloids. Tom also admitted that, as we all suspected, Katie left him partly to get her daughter away from Scientology.
“That was one of the assertions, yes. … There are many other aspects to the divorce,” he said when asked whether Katie left to protect Suri from his religion, according to People.
I’m sure there were, but this really doesn’t seem like a divorce over whether to squeeze the toothpaste tube from the bottom or the top, you know?
