Last night’s Super Bowl halftimes show featured Katy Perry with special appearances by Lenny Kravitz and Missy Elliott. Overall, Katy’s performance was great and definitely had social media buzzing about the performance.
While everyone was talking about Perry riding a mechanical lion and a shooting, star there was a also lot of talk about Missy Elliott coming out to perform “Get Ur Freak On.” Let's face it. We all missed Missy Elliott and was happy to see her come out and perform.
In the 1990s, Missy Elliott entered the music business with her close friend and music producer Timbaland and they were responsible for much of the success of artists such as Aaliyah, SWV, and Total. She has also written and produced songs for major artists such as Whitey Houston and Mariah Carey.

In 1997 she released her first album “Spa Dupa Fly” along with her first single and video, “The Rain.” The debut single was amazing and the video was innovative and featured Missy sporting a giant trash bag for most of the song. The video also featured choreographed dance routines and cameo appearances by Puff Daddy, Total, Lil Kim and Lil Cease, Da Brat, Yo-Yo and SWV.
It was one of those fun and creative videos that left you wondering what she would create next.
