Tuesday gossip roundup: Sheryl Crow blames cell phone for benign brain tumor

Miley Cyrus is leading a pretty dangerous life lately. First, a man attempts to force his way into her home wielding a pair of scissors — though Cyrus wasn’t home at the time — and now she’s getting into bar fights. Cyrus and fiancé Liam Hemsworth were hanging out at a nightclub in the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood when a man bumped into Hemsworth, leading to a heated discussion, according to Hollyscoop. After some shoving ensued, Cyrus reportedly got between the guys and ended up shoving the stranger herself and punching him in the face, according to a report of battery he later filed with the police. So far, no arrests have been made, and Cyrus’ reps don’t there will be any: “This claim is completely false and erroneous,” her rep says.

As details of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ wedding over the weekend surface, it’s becoming clear just how romantic the couple is. For example, for the location of their nuptials, they chose the South Carolina house used extensively in the 2004 film “the Notebook,” according to People magazine. Lively and Reynolds only began planning the wedding a month ago, sources tell the magazine, with Lively reportedly only telling her “Gossip Girl” bosses that she needed time off three weeks ago.

Zac Efron appreciates his gay fans — and isn’t fazed by speculation about his own sexuality. “I don’t like to live in fear about things like rumors and backlash to begin with — that’s the way I was raised — but I just can’t see what’s so wrong about being gay,” he tells the Advocate in an interview. He also makes it clear that he’s a strong supporter of marriage equality: “It’s an issue that affects so many people in my life — a lot of my close friends and some of the most influential people around me,” Efron says. “I just want them all to be happy. It would make me so happy to see them able to live their lives and do what they want to do.”

Sheryl Crow developed a benign brain tumor earlier this year, and she thinks it may be all her cell phone’s fault. “There are no doctors that will confirm that. [But] I do have the theory that it’s possible that it’s related to that,” Crow tells Katie Couric in an interview. “I [used to spend] hours on the old archaic cell phones.” Crow explains that the location of the tumor was suspiciously close to where she used to hold the phone.

While many people were worried Nicki Minaj‘s lyrics about supporting Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney were sincere, at least one fan wasn’t worried: President Barack Obama himself. “I’m not sure that’s actually what happened,” Obama says in an interview with an Orlando radio station. “I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that. But she likes to play different characters, so I don’t know what’s going on there.” Minaj herself took to Twitter to confirm Obama’s suspicions. “Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor and sarcasm, Mr. President. The smart ones always do,” she tweeted.
