‘We Are Men’
Remember that old “Simpsons” episode where Kirk Van Houten splits with Luann and moves into a sad rental complex for sad single men where his bed is in the shape of a Ferrari? That’s this, only as a possibly sadder live-action sitcom. The great Tony Shalhoub is joined by the less great Jerry O’Connell and Kal Penn as divorcees bonding and presumably drinking heavily.

‘The Story of Film: An Odyssey’
TCM has been airing film critic Mark Cousins’ epic, 15-part documentary on the history of cinema since early this month, and there’s still 10 weeks left. This episode focuses on WWII’s impact on film and how it created a tougher, darker cinematic language, and not just with film noir. As usual, the show will be followed by relevant films, namely “Citizen Kane,” “The Best Year of Our Lives” and “Rome, Open City.”

If you missed Stephen Merchant’s first solo show when it premiered Sunday night, here’s a chance to catch an encore. Both Ricky Gervais’ almost-as-brilliant cohort and a bewildering 7 feet tall, Merchant plays a googly eyed man out on the prowl for love in L.A. 8 p.m., HBO
‘Sleepy Hollow’
A Washington Irving short story is now a TV show that may run for untold seasons. The third episode once again joins Tom Mison’s Ichabod Crane, who’s been zapped into the modern day, which is still not as awesome as the 1979 film “Time After Time,” where H.G. Wells travels to the then-present to track down Jack the Ripper.
