Metro’s Tuesday night TV breakdown.

‘Dads’
COMEDY. We’re guessing Giovanni Ribisi is going to be totally wasted in this new sitcom about fratty business partners whose patriarchs are always hanging around and cramping their style. We’re guessing this because, though Seth Green is great behind the scenes in weirdo TV shows like “Robot Chicken,” he can also sometimes be kind of terrible when in front of the camera. This show hasn’t even aired yet but it’s already gotten bad press for being offensive — which is the only reason we will be tuning in.
Series Premiere, 8 p.m., FOX

‘New Girl’
COMEDY. When this show first premiered, Zooey Deschanel’s manically quirky and perky portrayal of Jess was almost too much to be endured. However, she’s since toned down the wackiness and fine-tuned her character. And there is no denying the comic tour de force that is Schmidt.
Season Premiere, 9 p.m., E!

‘The Mindy Project’
COMEDY. Guess we’re staying glued to FOX all night, because one of the funniest sitcoms on the air right now (now that “30 Rock” is kaput) returns. When we last left Mindy, she was off to be selfless in Haiti. We’re thinking that’s not going to last long.
Season Premiere, 9:30 p.m., FOX

‘The New Atlanta’
REALITY. And now for something completely…the same. Bravo is premiering yet another new reality show about vapid young (ish) people partying/sexing/fighting. Ah hell, we’ll add it to our roster. What’s one more?
Series Premiere, 10 p.m., BRAVO
