Everything you need to know about the ‘Game of Thrones’ premiere

Game Of Thrones Fast Facts Cersei

When does “Game of Thrones” premiere this year?
The Emmy-winning show will return with Season 7 on July 16 at 9 p.m.

Typically, the show returns in April, but production was pushed back because of weather concerns. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed as much saying, “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ and that means the sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes anymore.”

How many episodes will there be?
This season there will be seven episodes instead of the customary 10. The eighth and final season is expected to follow up in 2018.

Have any trailers come out?
So far, just a teaser filled with haunting stares and very long hallways.

Are there any new cast members?
Yes! Everything is very hush hush, but Jim Broadbent will reportedly play a significant role as a Maester (likely Marwyn the Mage) and Tom Hopper will be replacing Freddie Stroma in the role of Dickon Tarly. And those are just two among many.

Oh, and Ed Sheeran is going to be there for some reason.
