All the ways to watch the premiere of Modern Family season 10

modern family season 10 premiere dunphy

It’s hard to imagine our Wednesday nights without some misadventures from the Dunphy-Pritchett-Delgado clan, but at least it looks like this beloved sitcom isn’t holding anything back in their final run of episodes. What better way to kick off the last installment than with a patriotic fest for the Fourth of July? It looks like that’s what you can expect from the Modern Family season 10 premiere this Wednesday.

Brace yourselves for some tragedy this season, though. Co-creator of the series Christopher Lloyd warned of a big death at some point during the season, reports Entertainment Weekly. “We do deal with death,” he told the publication, adding, “it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would be unusual for a family not to go through it.” He’s staying mum about the character, but he did emphasize that it will be a “significant” character. Lloyd also shared that the death will be a “moving event,” and that it will “have repercussions across several episodes.”

For now, and to keep things lighter, here’s the official description we have for Modern Family season 10 episode 1: “The family gets together for the annual Fourth of July parade where Jay acts as the grand marshal; Haley’s farewell to Arvin doesn’t go as well as expected and she is distracted by the return of an old flame.” You can also check out our guide to everything you need to know about Modern Family season 10 if you want more specifics about cast members or potential spoilers.

How to watch the Modern Family season 10 premiere

You have plenty of options, so it’s easy to tune in for the Modern Family season 10 premiere no matter how hectic your schedule. If you’re near a TV on Wednesday night, simply tune into ABC in time to catch the 9pm start of the first episode of the new season.

If you won’t be at home, you can still use ABC to catch the premiere. Through your phone, laptop or tablet, you can log into the ABC Live Stream to watch live TV as you normally would on your small screen. You’ll just need your cable provider details handy so you can use them to login. Otherwise, you can use the ABC Go app to catch new episodes as they air  or past episodes if you’re still catching up. You can download the app now through the iTunes Store, Google Play or Amazon to make sure you’re prepared.

If you have the add-on, you can also use your Hulu Live account to stream the premiere as it airs on ABC. Unfortunately other live TV streaming services do not feature ABC content, so providers like Sling TV and FuboTV aren’t options for this one.

If you don’t mind catching the Modern Family season 10 premiere a little later than everyone else, you can use your regular Hulu subscription service. Simply head over to the series’ landing page on the streaming service. The episode will be available on Thursday, September 27.
