When is the Narcos season 3 premiere?

When they’re out promoting a brand new season the cast and crew of a show will often insist that its upcoming episodes take it in a different direction. Considering what happened at the end of the second season of Narcos, that’s inevitable with the Netflix drama’s third season, as the drug-addled crime thriller looks to expand beyond its main protagonist Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura).

That’s because Narcos’ last episode saw the death of the legendary drug dealer, which means that the series is going to have to pivot. But when will you be able to devour every new episode of Narcos?

You’ll be able to binge your way through the drama on September 1, 2017, as that’s the Narcos season 3 premiere when all 10 of its episodes will be uploaded exclusively to the streaming website. While Wagner Moura’s Pablo Escobar might be out of the picture, the repercussions of his work will be felt throughout the upcoming season.

DEA agent Javier Pena (Pedro Pascal) is making his return, and this time has his eyes are set on The Cali Cartel, who are looking to fill up the void left by the death of Pablo Escobar. The Cali Cartel is made up of Gilberto Rodriguez (Damian Alcazar) and his brother Miguel (Francisco Denis), Pacho Herrera (Alberto Ammann) and Chepe Santacruz Londono (Pepe Rapzote). AT their peak, between 1977 and 1998 they had a team of 700,000 and ran 90% of the world’s cocaine.

Considering that Boyd Holbrook’s Steve Murphy has also left the show, it is going to be quite the task for Pena to bring them down. You can get a taste of what’s in store in the third season of Narcos by watching its trailer below.

Those of you that have become invested in the real-life antics of Narcos could easily take to Wikipedia to find out what’s in store for the show. However, that would be taking away from the fun of it. Especially considering how close we are to the air-date, and how Narcos has done an increasingly impressive job of keeping viewers both surprised and on tenterhooks. Expect season 3 to be just as riveting.
