A 53-year-old woman was struck by a moving car outside the San Diego Convention Center and later succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The victim, identified by witnesses as "Gisella G.," was attempting to secure a spot in line outside the Convention Center's Hall H for Thursday's Comic-Con panel featuring the cast and filmmakers of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2."
According to Sand Diego Police Sgt. Ron Glass, the victim was trying to run across Harbor Drive against the light Tuesday morning and stopped short when she saw a Subaru Outback heading toward her, tripping into the vehicle. The victim was reportedly hurrying to maintain her place in line for the opening of the Convention, and had been in line with friends since Sunday. On Monday, Comic-Con officials asked via Twitter for fans to not line up until the set-up process was complete.
