The only shocking thing about Miley Cyrus’ performance at the American Music Awards on Sunday night was that it wasn’t shocking.
It’s not like we’ve actually found any of the star’s tongue-wagging antics shocking, but the world has unquestionably reacted with more dismay at everything she’s done since she shaved her head.
But her performance of “Wrecking Ball” against a green screen which featured a giant kitten singing along to the words and (spoiler alert) even crying, was just kinda silly.
The Twittersphere reacted accordingly, with the predictable jokes about the pussycat in the background, but most comments did not include the “cat” portion of that word.
