Weekend gossip roundup: Amanda Bynes determined to prove sobriety

More details are emerging about the altercation between alleged Chris Brown and Drake at a New York club last week, according to TMZ. Drake’s camp has insisted the singer wasn’t involved, stating, “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.” But Brown’s lawyer claims to have evidence that Drake and his entourage were the aggressors. So just what is that evidence? A source claims note exists that was sent from Drake’s table to Brown’s table reading, “I am f—ing the love of your life,” presumptively referring to Rihanna.

Lindsay Lohan was the cause of another 911 scare when paramedics were summoned to her hotel room Friday morning, where she was discovered unconscious by crew for her Elizabeth Taylor biopic, “Liz & Dick,” according to TMZ. Lohan recovered and was back to work in a few hours, avoiding any hospitalization. “Lindsay worked a grueling schedule the past few days,” her rep says in a statement, citing Lohan’s working a reported 85 hours over four days. “She took a nap before shooting her final scene. Producers were concerned when she did not come out of her room and called paramedics as a precaution. Lindsay was examined and is fine, but did suffer some exhaustion and dehydration.”

Despite the charge she faces for driving under the influence, Amanda Bynes is determined to prove she was sober when she drove into a police car, according to the New York Post. “Amanda will have friends testify that she wasn’t drinking on the night in question and she can produce camera footage from locations she visited to back it up,” a source says. “The real concern among her friends is Amanda’s state of mind. She doesn’t seem to grasp the severity of the situation. She seems out of it.”

Russell Brand is apparently choosy about exactly when he talks about his divorce from Katy Perry in interviews. Despite musing on the topic last week during one chat, he fumed at Graham Norton for broaching the subject during Brand’s visit to Norton’s British talk show. “My mum is here. She got upset when you dragged up my marriage. I saw her cry, Graham,” Brand said. “That’s the reality because it’s real people, Graham, that’s my real mum. I have come here to promote a film and you made my mum cry. I don’t see you as that sort of person, Graham.” Norton defended himself by noting that Perry had been a guest on his show the previous week.

As if looking to prove just how amicable her divorce actually is, Courteney Cox celebrated her 48th birthday by going out to lunch with soon-to-be ex-husband David Arquette and their 8-year-old daughter, Coco, according to Us Weekly. The three were spotted dining at the Paradise Cove restaurant in Malibu, Calif., Friday. While Arquette finally filed the formal divorce petition on what would have been the couple’s 13th anniversary, the timing wasn’t aimed at Cox, sources say. “He’s in love with Christina McLarty,” a source says, adding that Arquette is looking to “build a life” with the “Enterainment Tonight” correspondent.

Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest have been dating for a while, but apparently Hough is a little more comfortable with expressing her feelings for her man than vice versa. When Hough called into Seacrest’s radio show for an interview last week, she ended the chat with, “All right, love you, bye,” to which an audibly flustered Seacrest responded only, “Bye.” His colleagues, understandably, gave him a hard time about the omission.
